New to me 85 Short Bed
 

I found this 85 short bed in an old mans garage and couldn't turn it down. Its just a 305 with a 3 speed automatic for now. It had 95K miles, but then I drove it from Tyler to Houston, to Waco, and then back to Tyler with no problems at all! Its in the shop as we speak getting the pink stripe removed, a 2/4 drop, couple of dings fixed, and completely buffed out. I have a few plans for it for the long term but, immediate plans are to get the A/C fixed, and put a 700r4 trans in it. Any input from you guys about trans and A/C would be great!

This is my second square (first was an 85 in high school.)

Im really excited about this one! Its gonna be fun!

Its no doubt rust free. Luckily I could go right to buffing it out instead of filling holes!

Welcome to the board. That is a beautiful truck! I love factory Black trucks! I am working on getting a factory black 87 short bed myself.

Thanks alot! I am happy that its black, but after seeing a few of the two tone trucks on here, it kind of makes me jealous!

I know it will look good after I get that stripe off of it and buff it out.

I am going to leave it factory looking for now. Just trying to clean it up a bit and take my time with my wheel and tire choice. I do have to do something about that back bumper though!

Thanks alot! I'm pretty content with it for now, but there are a few things left to do. Came across a sweet deal on a 6.0 and transmission. I think that's going to be the next step... hopefully!

Its taking a while, and still have a long way to go, but here are a couple of updated pics.

6.0 and 4L80E sitting in there now! Cant wait to hear it run.
