Gen 2 C20 frame different then gen 3 K10?
First off, i'm new here and hope i'm doing this right.
I'm trying to figure out if a I can use the a arms from a 69 C20 fleet and put them onto a 77 step side K10 series Thanks everyone. This site has been helping me for a long time now and I'm glad to finally join. Thanks for the help! |

What is the goal of switching the A arms? Are you trying to convert the k10 to a 2wd truck? The k10's factory have solid axles, with out the use of A arms. I may or may not be correct but i think the frames are pretty close between the 69 2wd and 80s 2wd, But the 4x4s have a different crossmembers. And welcome to the forums i am sure someone with more knowledge will chime is shortly

I'm trying to piece together a runner out some donor trucks I have in my bone yard. The 69 C20 has no body, but I have a buyer for my 77 K10 if I can turn it into a 2wd. I have always worked on the gen 3's, so the 69 is a new beast to me and I'm trying to see what's interchangeable.

Or, can I just put the 77 body onto the 69 frame?

i know the body mounts are different. I bought a 85 c10 chassis a while back i wish i had taken pictures of this guys yard bought it from had frames of all the older chevy years 4x4 and 2wd. I have seen pictures of frames allof this forum recently now that im actually looking for them again.
The best bet would to probably to be put the 69 c20 crossmember in the 77, I know the 2wd versions of the 69 and 85 crossmembers bolt up pretty close with the drilling of a couples holes. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=180770 this link will only help a little, now that i think about it |

The k10 being a short bed is worth more being 4x4 then 2wd.I'd find someone else to sell it to or sell it whole and give him the swap parts and let him do the work.
