1968 chevy c30 front shock mount
 

I am trying to remove a broken shock mount from the front drivers side crossmember. I have taken off the nuts on the Leaf Spring U-bolt and removed the shock absorber, but the Shock Mount will not come off. Why is this - does anyone know? Should I take a torch and heat up the bracket to loosen up any rust that may be holding it?

Please advise
