6 lug to 5 lug
Now that I am changing to a 5 lug rear out of a Camaro I want to convert the front to 5 lug. I am still using the original front axle with the newer bearings and disc brakes. What 5 lug hubs will work and what rotors.
Once I am done I will have the 6 lug hubs and rotors if any one needs them. |
Re: 6 lug to 5 lug
I've never seen a factory hub/rotor that was a direct (with bearing change) swap.
Most guys use the CPP or other available kits to do the swap. |
Re: 6 lug to 5 lug
I thought I read that the same-era chevy car hubs interchanged with the truck hubs. I'm not 100%.
I can say for sure that Rockauto lists the same bearings for the 210 series as for the truck. |
Re: 6 lug to 5 lug
The CPP kits include hubs from 69-77 mid-size cars iirc. That's what the boxes said on my kit.
I bought the kit through Speedway, along with a dual-pot master/booster and the installation was fairly hassle free. You have to grind one tab off the calipers, other than that everything bolts/slides on just nicely. I guess you might could save a buck or three by piecing the thing together on your own and fabbing/buying brackets. For me it was worth it to buy the kit. |
Re: 6 lug to 5 lug
Chevy passenger car hubs up to 1954 will fit your axle. However this doesn't mean the hub offset will be correct for your disc brake kit.

Re: 6 lug to 5 lug
If you're using your factory 6 lug hubs then offset should be the same, check to make certain if you can find the passenger car hubs.
