I have returned to my past love. Picked up a 1986 C20

I sold my list square truck a few years ago. And have been kicking myself everyday since. I have been watching this 1986 C20 Long bed on Craigslist for about a month. I contacted the seller once for details, but wasn't ready to buy at that moment. Let a few more weeks go by, called again. This time went and took a look and had a few bucks in my pocket. Nothing rides like these trucks, I had to have it.
I noticed right off it was running like it had a couple of vacuum lines off or open. The Q-Jet was just that out of adjustment. It only took about 15 minutes under the hood to correct the minor issue's. Several rotted vacuum hoses, and someone had added a vacuum gauge and the source hose was disconnected.
It had one of those Tornado canister kits installed in the air filter housing
hose. It had the hose blocked tight, there was no air getting past that thing. I don't know if it was designed to spin or what. Its gone now.
There are three area's of rust, the left door bottom. I'll most likely replace the door, there easy to come by around here. And the back of the cab, one place up high at a seam above the rear glass. And a place below the glass which I see two holes, so two small patch panels miged in there.

More later Ken I'll have take new pic's tomorrow

Looks like a real straight truck, nice find.

Looks like it has crank windows but power locks?

I have one of those tornado things under my air cleaner for fun. I got it at pick a part with my air cleaner, and i always say it adds a 100hp just like VTEC.

I prefer the C20's over the C10's since they have bigger brakes that are a match for most C10 big brake kits with just upgraded replacement parts. Plus in light duty form ride just as good.

My K20 light duty 4x4 rides just about as good as a stock C10, and no issues with 800 pounds in the bed. I had nearly 2000 pounds of engines I moved during my divorce, and it just squated more then I like. So I will add air bags later to help out. My friend with a blown out back has no trouble with a 50 mile drive.

That does seam unusual that the truck is equipt with power door locks and no power windows. The power door locks are not working at this time also.

It also has been used to pull a heavy trailer, the trailer brake inside the truck is the style that tie's into the brake lines and the trucks rear wiring harness.
I will be removing all of that equipment and going with the standard all electric trailer brake controller. Also will replace the rear step bumper to the chrome sport bumper. And add a good strong frame mounted trailer hitch.

And say Good Bye to the tool box. I can't stand over the rail tool boxes, I have two already, laying around taking up space.

Also today I'm going to clean up the air filter housing, remove the 4 inch tall filter the have glued to the bottom section. Then remove the 2 inch thin steel lip that stops air from entering into the carb on a straight path.
