removing gauge cluster

1 Attachment(s)
So I figured I would remove my gauge cluster to aid in removing the brake pedal assembly. I removed all the screws I think I need to but it won't budge. Also, how is the speedo connected to the gauge? I can get my hand somewhat back there but figure if I can get the gauges out a little I would be able to disconnect it? Thanks for any help. This is on my 86 K5.

Dash pads are a PAIN to remove sometimes. Once ALL of the screws are out including those along the lower part near the glove box (I think there is 2 or 3) then it just pulls out towards you.

He wants to remove the cluster, not the dash pad. The dash pad doesn't have to come out to remove the cluster, but it would make it slightly easier.

There's a clip you push to unhook the cable.

what I've did in the past is push the speedometer cable in from under the hood, this should allow you to pull the cluster out enough to make it easier to push the clip that hold the cable on.

Thanks jratz. That is what I did. Made it real easy to remove.
