removing gauge cluster
1 Attachment(s)
So I figured I would remove my gauge cluster to aid in removing the brake pedal assembly. I removed all the screws I think I need to but it won't budge. Also, how is the speedo connected to the gauge? I can get my hand somewhat back there but figure if I can get the gauges out a little I would be able to disconnect it? Thanks for any help. This is on my 86 K5.

Re: removing gauge cluster
Dash pads are a PAIN to remove sometimes. Once ALL of the screws are out including those along the lower part near the glove box (I think there is 2 or 3) then it just pulls out towards you.

Re: removing gauge cluster
The dash pad has to come out too?

There's a clip you push to unhook the cable. |

Thanks. Looks like I will have some fun tomorrow.

Re: removing gauge cluster
what I've did in the past is push the speedometer cable in from under the hood, this should allow you to pull the cluster out enough to make it easier to push the clip that hold the cable on.
