WTB 4 speed trans

I have a 69 lwb with a factory 3 on the tree.I am getting ready to swap a pretty healthy 408 in.I know that 3 speed wont hold up to the torque.

I am looking for preferably a car 4-speed.I don't care what kind really.Even though a borg-warner t-10,or a muncie(highly doubtful I'll find either of those)Or even a truck 4-speed would work.

Thanks.I need to find out shipping to 63028. Have cash!

I have a truck 4 speed i can sell you, might be able to get a saginaw also ( didnt see you wanting that though :) ) Shipping is going to be roughly 165 dollars from here in Harrison to you.. thats them dropping it off at your house too btw. It is through ABF. If you are interested in it, I will give you a price on the tranny.

Opps looks like I put this under the wrong topic.

Yes I'm interested.A couple of questions though. Will it bolt to my stock 3 speed bellhousing.I just bought a new clutch for the 3 speed. That would be a 130 dollar mistake.Considering I used it for 4 days. Also can I get an aftermarket shifter for it.

They will more then likely move this, no big deal :) I am pretty sure the splines on the 3 spd tranny and the pickup 4 speed are the same, and bellhousings should interchange. The truck four speed is a top loader transmission.. and it seems like I have the shifter for it. I dont know about the bellhousing or clutch between your 3 speed and the car stuff... and I know for sure you can buy an aftermarket shifter for the car 4 speed :)

How much would you want for the shifter.

PM with a price or just reply with it.Very interested!

I will look in the cab of the pickup that has the tranny in it tomorrow morning and let you know. It has been a while since i looked at the shifter, but I remember it had the old 4 speed shifting knob on it maybe? I'll check for you.

ALright just shoot me a price.I can get a money order tommorow.

Also do you know what model # it is?Like a sm465?Or what?

The shifter is out of my 70 model truck. However, I have a complete (still in the truck) 4 speed out of a 85 model one ton truck.. everything is there. and i believe it is an sm465

Well I don't think I will break that. The thing is will it bolt to my bellhousing. If it will I want it.

Just name a price.
