Stepside bed inner wheel tubs
Has anyone added fleetside wheeltubs to their step side? Mine sits fairly low. I was going to go the whole way into the frame rail in case I want to go bigger in the future. I'm running a 325/50/15 drag radial on a 10" wheel. I've got about 1-2" of gap to the wheel opening from the tire. I'm looking at running a wider 30-31" tall Hoosier Quick Time Pro tire. Can't hurt to have more tire with a torquey big block! Just wondering if I'll be fine with factory tubs or I need aftermarket ones. This is on an '87 by the way. Thanks

Re: Stepside bed inner wheel tubs
I used the fleetside inner fenders on mine. I cut some width out of mine to clear roll cage, etc. I have had as large as an 30.5x10.5w under mine with it sitting low. Never had an issue with tire clearance.

Re: Stepside bed inner wheel tubs
I had an '84 stepside that was tubbed using the fleetside inner fenders. The PO that did the work jused the inners as is without modification. The inside of the "tubs" where actually past the frame rail. I did not keep the truck long enought to change that, but if I had, I would have narrowed the tubs to keep the inside flush with the outside of the frame rail.
