What transmission crossmember for LS SWAP ?? 6L80e ..
 

Hey guys I am doing a l92/6l80e swap into my 77c10.What are you guys using for crossmembers for ls swaps? i already have dirty dingo engine mounts so i dont need to order the 600 dollar kit from hedman headers which includes a tranny crossmember..I am in central valley california if there is somebody who has fabrication skills please let me know,anyone have any experience with putting a 6l80e into a c10 from 72-87? whoever has any knowledge on the subject would really appreciate it. :ito:

I manufacture a cross member for '73-'87 C10s, but would need some info on your setup to determine if it will work. Hit me up on FB and I'll help you sort it out. I'm confident we can manage.

I went with porterbuilt's universal crossmember on my truck. I'm running a TH350 but I don't think you'd have an Issue with the 6L80. Main reason I went with it was so I could run my exhaust straight under the crossmember from the collectors.

did the porterbuilt one bolt right up or require welding? and what about the mount itself? i am having a impossible time because my 6l80e tranny has a tail end from a sts-v and the mount for the sts-v is way to big for my cross member to even accomodate so i pretty much need one with a drop in the middle at least a few inches and fabricate some sort of plate i imagine i dont know what to do mount wise,i wish i could worry about exhaust !! i am just having trouble now with crossmember and trying find headers that fit without any frame grinding or cuttting at all!! BUT what the heck this is what we signed up for this is part of the duty of building a truck! :metal::chevy:

can you post pics 83 swb of your underbody of truck if possible? do you have a build thread? anyways thanks for stopping in .

Drilled 4 holes, painted it, and bolted it right in, width was spot on.

If you can wait I'll post up a picture tomorrow.

My cross member was design specifically to run dual exhaust. You should also be able to change the trans cushion to the Camaro or truck type, if they would improve things.

I plan on running a dual exhaust.i just can't find anything to mount to the bolt holes under my tailend,would be willing to use whatever. How much does your xmember run?

will it work for 6l80e? how many inches in the drop in the middle? how do i go about paying for this crossmember?any things that can affect fitment or clearence of tranny? very interested:metal:
