Here are alot of choices , take a look and post any questions back here.
Will this engine be dead stock, or...?

Do i need full length, and will the c20 headers work?

Re: HELP! 454 motor swap

Yes, and yes. Those were the only listing for a 454.

Depends the brand some of the cheap brands fit great or are far off.If money is tight run factory manifolds. What trans are going to run with it and what torque converter?

Re: HELP! 454 motor swap

Trans is th400... Ill probably get the cheaper ones then

Re: HELP! 454 motor swap

Shortie headers would be easier to install and probably fit better,Long tube will make more power but can be a pain to install.

Hedman are good usually. Don't buy any but long tube , it would just be a waste of money to do so !

Why is that?

don't have specific advice other than that I'd order through summit. The headers I bought from them for my sbc worked great but the bigger reason to order through summit is that if you do end up with something that doesn't fit well summit has very good customer service

Long tubes are better for all out power, but shorties have there places. Either work better then factory manifolds.

Big power needs long tubes or you'll be chocking the engine up. Stock or warmed up a big t shorties do the trick.

If I built a big block truck I would be running 3/4 or mod length to get the 6/8 drop I want.

Long tubes will give the most total torque, most bottom-end torque, and HP.
Shorties are only marginally better than the iron manifolds, and medium length are better - but less than the full length.

Cost is close or the same on all three.

You'll only need smaller tube headers if the engine will be stock.

If you'll be lowering the truck - try to use the med length.

Good Luck !!

just did this swap last spring, check out the thread "Big Block Headers". The last day posted was 1-12-2015. I have included pictures of my swap. Good luck, I love the grunt of the Big Block.

Sorry, I missed the "but" in your post and read it as "Don't buy any long tube..."
