Gauge install help on 48?

Ok, not sure what happened with my last post but it is gone. Anyhow, looking for some feedback and help on installing dolphin gauges on a 1948. Just looking to see what everyone has done to keep these gauges secure. I don't have the originals anymore so need some ideas. Pictures are helpful also. Thanks.

ebay. I bought 2 gauge clusters from this guy for my 58 and 59. I'm very happy with them.

J48, I posted on the other thread, what apachemike is showing will work in the stock holes, if this is what you need...Jim

which dolphin gauges did you get. In any case you need the trim ring from LMC or any other vendor. Then the gauge will slide from the back into the trim ring both will slide over the 4 studs in the back and your gauges should have come with tabs that hold the gauge in and over the studs. 3/8 nut
If you don't have that it is simply a metal band shaped in a l_l shape

I purchased this off eBay to use with the gauges. This fits the 4 5/8 set I have. This bolts directly into the stock stud locations but the gauges are loose and not attached. IceBurgh I see what you are now saying as the back of the gauges have 2 studs and I can easily make a bracket to hold them.

Thanks

This billet holder eliminates the big chrome standard ones for a more flush mount.

I used 2 accessory gauge back halves. Hole sawed a 5 inch hole in them and welded the dolphin bracket to them. Purchased brand new trim rings abd attached them to the back halves of the accessory gauges. You then slide the dolphins in from the front and bolt them to the bracket. Then set then in the dash and they bolt in the factory location
