Factory Buckets?

I was underneath the dash and looked back under my bench seat on the drivers side and saw this bracket. Does this mean my truck came with factory buckets? The bench that's in there now looks like it was just placed there.

Thanks,

Matt

The truck is an original CA truck out of the Fremont plant and is a '76.

It was not unusual to see the factory buckets pulled out if the owner wanted a 3 person truck ....or the seat wore out and all he could find was a bench. The factory bucket trucks had carpet around the back of the cab also;there are 3 attaching holes by the door striker..or the carpet may be there still.Less than 1 % of production was buckets.

I was doing a search on this site and actually found my truck here is the link and yes it did have buckets. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=365234
It makes sense now, I got it for a real deal as the back fees were way out of proportion to the value of the tuck. I ended up negotiating the fees to a reasonable amount. Pretty cool to find some pics of my truck before the goodies were taken out. :metal:

Thats cool! You can easily find buckets in a Suburban and modify the tracks and it'll all bolt in. I prefer the 88-91 style seats myself.

I just put in a set of low backs from a 70's motor home and used the late 80's suburban seat tracks and they work great! The only mod is to change the angle on the rear of the tracks.

Thanks KrazyRay, that is good advise. I am sort of keeping my eye out for buckets and tracks. I sure cant afford original stuff, but you see tall backs for sale fairly often. Not quite sure yet.

If your looking to find oem brackets for bucket seats I'm sorry my friend but that is going to be a goldmine that you'll find.

There is a reason why people use bucket seat brackets for including myself.
