73-79 headlight bezels - stock chrome?
 

Hey guys so I'm looking to start painting my 76 chevy the ochre/white two tone option from 73/74 trucks but I just saw a truck that appears to be completely stock (see here: http://m.ebay.com/itm/331427748642?_mwBanner=1) and the headlight bezel looks blacked out or darkened around the headlight bulb. I thought they were all chrome from the factory. Can anyone chime in on this? Thanks.

Btw if anyone has this color package please post some pix. I love this scheme and I'm converting my hawiaan blue to it. Thanks for your help!

Hi some were shaded,i think some had it that area, some it was just the recessed ring.

The the recessed areas around the headlight openings were originally painted. But it's not uncommon for the factory paint to have worn/peeled off, leaving the chrome underneath exposed.

I believe the original paint colors for the 73-78 style headlight bezels were:

73-74 = black
75-76 = argent silver
77-78 = dark argent (metallic gray)
