1980 Grille Guard on 1982 Bumper

I just got a Luvurne grille guard off of a 1980 Chevy for free. The contour of the bumper is different than mine and I was wondering what the best way to make it fit would be. am I going to have to cut a new contour out of the uprights? Thanks

Yep, cut the contour of the newer bumper into it. The frame is the same, so no issues there.

The holes should all line up then?

The mounting holes should be the same, but the Contour is different. Make a cardboard templet of the 82 bumper (where it mounts), and then trace the outline on the guard. trim off areas not needed. Mount up on the 82.:chevy:

Any suggestions on the best way to cut it would be? I'm thinking torch, but I'd just like some cleaner ideas if possible

Do you have room for a 4" grinder with zip wheel?, they make a nice clean cut.

I do, but i don't know if that would be able to follow the curves without too much extra damage
