Pedalbox Swap
Are all C/K manual pedal boxes the same from '73 - '87?
Trying to broaden my search for parts to do a manual conversion in my '79 C10. Many thanks. |
Re: Pedalbox Swap
Yes and no, They all bolt up the same between 73' and 87' but GM switched to a hydraulic clutch in 85'.

Re: Pedalbox Swap
Yes they all bolt up but the 2wd and 4x4 turn different ways i believe.

Re: Pedalbox Swap
Useful to know the change from cable to hydraulic operation - will help when choosing a gearbox. Does that mean '88 on will also bolt in but will be hydraulic only?

And just to be awkward are there any GM car pedal boxes that bolt straight in? Thanks again. |
Re: Pedalbox Swap
I was wrong and right,The difference between the two boxes is the size of the shaft coming out of the box. This will show you how to tell them apart http://tinyurl.com/ok5l8ss and as far as the car ones i have no idea on those.

Re: Pedalbox Swap
I think he's talking about clutch and brake pedal assemblies. Edit to add, if I'm remembering right, the difference between the Hydroboost brakes vs. vacuum is the attachment point of the brake rod - hydroboost uses the upper spot and vacuum the lower. And there is a different set of pedals for hydraulic clutch trucks.
