Who here has swapped out their ATM dash for touch screen?
I am told there is a company that sells and/or replaces the 88-94 "ATM" machine looking stereo controls for a touch screen.
I think its the only ugly thing on the style of dash that is ugly. As for the rest I think it looks better as it ages. But durability....um....yeah. The next generation for designs in terms of dash and door panels looked OK but are more durable. With that said, I prefer that over what they are doing now. I dislike the "honda" look with its missing openness. |
Re: Who here has swapped out their ATM dash for touch screen?
I loved my '92 stereo controls. I always felt it was one of the best designs ever. They made them match the heat controls and gave both graph indicators. I loved that whole interior. I've seen other negative comments on these. Funny how different people see things different ways. I'm fine with that. I think it's the last great interior GM made. Since '95, IMO, they've became bulbous molded mounds of plastic. Same with door panels The only thing I didn't like is the speaker location. I've had grit get through the grille and bounce on the speaker. My biggest beef was how their location prevented an effective defroster. The lower corners always gather ice, lifting the wipers, and allow ice to creep inward till you have to stop and remove it. I thought about some sort of deflector buy never did anything. Not to be totally at odds here, but the ATMs I use are touch screen
