Dash Pad Removal

Hi.

I'm trying to remove my dashpad.

It is stuck on the passenger side. I understand there are two "clips" under there on each side of the speaker-grate?

It isn't coming out, and if I use anymore force I believe the dashpad is going to break in half. Something has already broken and fallen on the floor (looks like a plastic screw with threading on each end) and I have heard other snaps.

Just what am I supposed to reach under and unscrew/disconnect before trying to pull it up and out?

Thank you.

Did you pull the a/c ducts off and did you remove the screw on the right side close to the door jam.

I reached above the glovebox and disconnected the AC duct, yes.

There is no screw there on my truck.

Where it seems to be stuck is on each side of the right speaker grating at the base of the windsheild.

Mine is an 81 Silverado.

I tried again to pull back on the dashpad with my left hand gripping the edge of the defrost-vent and my right lifting up slightly on the bottom edge below the emblem.

It doesn't budge. :S

When you have all of the screws out the edge under the emblem should raise up with no effort at all. You have the gauge bezel removed and (I think) 4 screws from the passenger's side bottom edge, plus one in each door jam?
