itI bought the Holly GM LS Retrofit Oil Pan for mine. I got lucky and got it on sale when I bought it, now it's gone back up to regular price.

Here's a real GM pan + accessories for $148. That's an insane deal. However, it might be a bit deep for a slammed truck, so take some measurements.

The Holley pan is 1"-2" shorter, but costs 2.5 times as much.

I've always heard the Cadillac one is the one to go with.

The GM pan you reference is the GM "musclecar" pan kit. It will still hang below the crossmember. No bueno, IMO. The Holley pan is a really nice piece. I was impressed with it. It also comes with everything you need except for a gasket and windage tray, depending on application. I used a Caddy pan on mine, because the price was right (it was given to me, but I had to buy everything but the pan).

Re: oil pan with LS swap

I swapped an LQ4 and 4L80e into my '87 SWB without changing the oil pan. My mounts clear the A/C compressor and oil pan, and the pan is pretty close to flush with the cross-member, with the intake dress-up cover just brushing the hood insulation.
Message me for details....

I just installed the Holley pan, pickup, and their trap-door baffle on an early LS1 that will go into a lowered 55 Chevy car. Very nice piece for sure!

I know the GM pan I referenced hangs down too low on some cars, but I didn't know whether or not it would be OK on stock height trucks.

Re: oil pan with LS swap

I threw out everything anyone ever told me about what works and what doesn't.
I designed a mount that the truck pan doesn't hang down, and keeps the stock A/C mount.
If you are using any mounts that you must swap a pan to install a truck LS, you have the wrong mounts.
