Re: oil pan with LS swap
itI bought the Holly GM LS Retrofit Oil Pan for mine. I got lucky and got it on sale when I bought it, now it's gone back up to regular price.

Re: oil pan with LS swap
Here's a real GM pan + accessories for $148. That's an insane deal. However, it might be a bit deep for a slammed truck, so take some measurements.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/nal-19212593 The Holley pan is 1"-2" shorter, but costs 2.5 times as much. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/hly-302-1/overview/ |
Re: oil pan with LS swap
I've always heard the Cadillac one is the one to go with.

Re: oil pan with LS swap
I swapped an LQ4 and 4L80e into my '87 SWB without changing the oil pan. My mounts clear the A/C compressor and oil pan, and the pan is pretty close to flush with the cross-member, with the intake dress-up cover just brushing the hood insulation.

I know the GM pan I referenced hangs down too low on some cars, but I didn't know whether or not it would be OK on stock height trucks. |
Re: oil pan with LS swap
I threw out everything anyone ever told me about what works and what doesn't.
I designed a mount that the truck pan doesn't hang down, and keeps the stock A/C mount. If you are using any mounts that you must swap a pan to install a truck LS, you have the wrong mounts. |
