Burgundy interior over bronze? Your thoughts?

2 Attachment(s)
I went to a couple of yards today and called a couple more for tan or mahogany interior pieces. No luck so far. Not sure it would go together but I have a full burgundy interior minus seat. The thing is that the interior metal is painted bronze. I have seen tan interior over red painted interior metal but not the other way around.

To be honest, with burgundy and bronze, all I keep thinking is a theme type truck someone might build with respect to the Washington Redskins - and I'm not even much of a football follower!

I think that would look cool, especially if it's all in good shape. Like a weird factory color-scheme... It'd get some second looks, I think.

When it comes to the truck that is yours its what you like I mean hey if you would like zebra print put that in.. Is that a factory scheme no I don't think so but if you like the color combo go for it personally I don't think it would look bad

Well obviously not my first choice of color to go with the bronze. However it would have to look alot better than the ragged out stuff in it now. Just wanted some opinions, I know it's not going to flow together real good. Not into the zebra print though. ;)

You see burgundy interiors with bronze exteriors once in a while. There was at least one car at Mecum in Kissimmee with that paint combination from the factory. So it's not that weird.

I think you should go for it. Any how it will buy you a couple of years mean while you have a more usable and better looking interior. Here a pic of my truck interior, metal in beige, cloth in burgundy

Just have to find me a nice Burgundy bench now. I took the one out of this cab and put it in the K30 I sold a while back. Should have known about the time I did that then I would need it. It wasn't in the best of shape but far better than what I have now.

I have pretty much talked myself into doing it. Just have to find a seat locally now.

I'm pretty sure I have clean burgandy bench seat at my shop you could have if it's worth the drive.

Thanks. Probably have more expense in coming to get it than buying a new cover for one. I appreciate it though.

I started the swap today. Just about every tan trim piece was so brittle that I barely moved them when removing them and they broke. Looks better already since the burgundy is in better shape. Not the best of colors together but still better. Still have to do kick panels, carpet, seat belts, rear plastic trim and find a seat. I do have a charcoal vinyl seat I can put in if needed until I find a burgundy cloth seat.

One of each color and here is what the door panels and kick panel looked like and the reason I took them out.

I think it looks pretty good together. Better than the stock color, IMO.

Thanks. Just working with what I got. Could be worse. I could have used the blue interior that I have lol.

I like the metalic 'seventies and 'eighties colors, especially given how much metal is in the interior, and the burgandy is a nice contrast.

I think that'll grow on you. The more I look at it, the more I like it.

I don't mind it, it actually looks better than I thought it would. Just need to finish it up. I was a bit dissappointed when I pulled the dash pad out of the red cab. It had developed a couple of big cracks in it from sitting there in the last two years. It had some cracks around the speaker grills already which was no big deal but didn't want to see those new cracks there. Oh well. I am not building a show truck here.

Those colors actually don't look too bad together, but I have always liked unusual or uncommon color combos.

Not to thread-jack, but I'm planning on having my 84 painted black this spring/summer and my interior is currently blue. I'm wondering what color I should change it to that will go with the exterior.

I have a black 86 with blue interior, and I think it looks awesome
