78 C10 - what's the bulb under the dash called?
 

Sorry for this seemingly simple question. What is the bulb under the dash by the ashtray called? Is it the courtesy light?

I am trying to look for a replacement bulb for this and unfortunately the one that was in there is completely destroyed. So, I am having a hard time finding a replacement bulb.

Troubling the matter is the search button is not available for me to do research here.

I think what you need is a 1156 bulb . Its the same base as the 1157 dual element but only has one element . That what my 82 takes . I think yours is the same if I am not mistaken .

Also go to the top of the page for your search and click 67-72trucks.com and do your search . It will work for you in the mean time until they get it upgraded and working again .

Thanks... That I was it. Autozone, Pep Boys, etc were telling me it was a completely diff bulb. One that did not even look close to what it actually is.
