New truck has arrived!
 

Our (early) 1947 GMC just arrived yesterday from Arizona! New to this body style, not to hot rods.

Camaro front clip and rear end. Disc brakes, tubular A-arms. Fuel inj chevy 350, AC, a few other little things here and there.

Plans include wooden bed kit, different wheels and tires (what fits?) possible interior redo, and redoing the running boards in grey. If anyone has any help or sources for those things, let me know. Glad to be here, Thanks!

I had to look 3 times to see that it was a G M C!
Nice ride and a good combo. of running gear.
Where in Az did you find the truck?

If it were me.....I would tear the whole dam thing apart. Change the motor to a 292 inline six with custom headers, slap in a MII front end. Recess the firewall, etc. etc. etc. The next thing you know, it will be 5 years later and you will be in way over your head! But that's just me:lol::lol:::banghead:

thanks guys! it probably won't see TOO many changes this year with all of the other projects going on, but we did get 7 feet of snow the last 3 weeks so maybe there will be time haha!

my dad found it at some car show in a parking lot. i believe it was right outside of where barrett jackson was being held.

Nice truck, What do you have in mind for wheels? I may be interested in the ones you have. I am just down the road a bit.

Very nice. The aftermarket a/c blends very nice. Are they additional ac vents up by the sunvisor area? They look it. But can't see how they channeled it up to that area.

I would like a measurement of your wheel base, I am not liking my rear wheel and fender clearance on our 46.
Your rear wheel looks to be centered in the fender, what is the rear tire size?

sorry everyone, don't get on here that much or touched the truck, been busy finishing our camaro.

wheels might be staying, they're growing on us. pulled the 18/17" billets off the camaro to test and it didn't look right. hmm.

ill try to measure the wheelbase for you asap solidaxel. i know its a stock frame with a camaro front clip, i believe early 80s
