Fender options for 96 burb
Hey I am just curious on what the fender options were back in 96. I have seen the trucks with fender flares, chrome strip, and bare painted. What was available back then? I do not think you can simply add some from one truck that had them to one that did not. Am I correct on this? I thought there was a indented lip to allow the molding of the flare to fit.

They're the same fender. Only difference is the factory fender for the flares has 6-8 rather large holes. The rubber trim fits any fender.

Re: Fender options for 96 burb
so if I find a dead burb with silver fenders I jump on it?

Re: Fender options for 96 burb
Yup, grab it. All the same, just as Z said...

Re: Fender options for 96 burb
It would be easier to take the whole fender than pull the flares with fender on truck. Also, you will have your good non-flare fenders to sell. I did kind of the opposite. I had a K3500 that I put 8" wheels on, which sticks the tires out too far. Since Bushwacker Extend-A-Fenders stick out more but wouldn't cover the holes, I bought 2wd/light 4wd fenders.

Re: Fender options for 96 burb
too late boys.....someone listed a classified ad for a set of bushwacker square style flares for 75.00. I was all over it...I am going to paint them silver to match the burbs bottom panel. Once they are all painted, I think it will look really sharp and protect better in causing less water from kicking up to the rear.

Re: Fender options for 96 burb
That will look nice. If by square style you mean Extend-A-Fender I think those look better than factory. Factory flares are more cladding than flares...seem more about covering fender area than extending tires coverage. They don't exactly "flare" from the body either

Re: Fender options for 96 burb
these are the ones with bolts...pocket style models

Re: Fender options for 96 burb
will unbolt and pressure wash them later today.....will take a week to paint them silver and clear coat them. My cousin offered to poly fill bondo them before painting them. I declined.

Re: Fender options for 96 burb
Should I paint the bolts blue to match the paint on the Suburban?

Re: Fender options for 96 burb
I would make them same color as flare. The notches make them stand out enough as it is. Are you getting wider tires and wheels?
