My 64 1ton panel

Just wanted to introduce myself, I have always loved chevs, and always will, so when I found this panel, I knew it was to be rescued.
I will be the third owner of this 64 1 ton panel, and I do have loads of work to do to get it back on the road, so thanks for letting me join.

On Android, I log in, then click "post reply", or "start new thread", NOT "quick reply". If you are in a quick reply you need to click on "go adavanced". Next click "manage attachments" then choose where you get your pic, then"upload" then "close this window" then post. (the spring pic got posted as I was making sure I told you correctly.)

I pancaked the crossmember 1.5"s and then bought a set of Michigan Metal Works upper and lower control arms. I'm using factory spindles and 205/70/15 tires. The crossmember is from a 84 Chevy so I have disc brakes. I also modified the frame under the cab to cut out the spots that hang down lowest. The body is also channeled/lowered on the frame roughly 4"s.

Before all this work I had a stock crosmember, cupped lower control arms, and 3" drop spindles and it would lay frame. But that wasn't low enough for me, I wanted to lay door.

If you click on my name you can probably find my build.

cool I think mine is going to stay the way it is, minus all the rust I will be removing.

Re: My 64 1ton panel

Welcome to the 1ton club. You know, I dont know what the production numbers were for these 1 ton versions but so far I have found less than a dozen on the roads. Oh, I see lots of panels, but they are all the 1/2 ton versions. I keep watching but there are definitely not many of these left.

my 60 with the even cooler pig nose hood

Re: My 64 1ton panel

You're correct, I hardley ever see a 1ton longer version anywhere. I only know of 1 other one that's on the road and bagged. As far as I know, I have the only one that is bagged and lays door. Which I understand isn't everybodys cup of tea. I also have a pig nose gmc hood!

I'm jealous of the diesel you have in yours. I may have to go that route in the future!
