See any red flags with these vehicles?

Looking at 3 seperate vehicles right now, from these vehicles do you see any red flags? I figure the more eyes I can get on them the better off I am.

Just buy all three! Really cannot tell any problems both k5s seem to have the sought after tach dash but all of them look great. Just check for rust around the fenders and on the k5 check the tailgates to make sure the glass moves freely and that there are no cracks in the metal on both upper corners.

lol, wife would kill me if i got all three. Just trying to decide between the three and was hoping a red flag would pop up with one and rule it out.

Except for the rims I like the P/U best. It also looks all stock and not altered in anyway from the supplied photos. The 2 toned K5 would be my 2nd choice. No particular reason except I am not a fan of brown. Also the 2 tone K5 still has its original AM/FM in it. Both my choices have tilt wheel.
You need to go see each one to make a choice.

Oh for sure, I am just trying to find reasons to help narrow it down.

one thing to check on the blazers, (i didn't, found a nice surprise) if you can, unbolt the top & check the top of the box where the topper meets the cab. if you got a bad weatherstrip, water will collect & rust out the top rails on the box, noticed some nice 10" long rust holes there on my '76 K5 first time i took the topper off.....
this area can cause you some grief...

All three look awesome! I am assuming these are all western trucks? It is hard to pick without knowing the prices. If one is a lot cheaper than the others that might be a factor. Good luck.

X2. also mileage and drive train condition. The first K5 has been modified somewhat. Dual shock conversion chrome here and there and looks lifted. It may have other mods done to it. If such things matter to you.

Yellow/white 1973 is $7000 (Owner wanted more hp so he traded off the #'s engine for a 383 stroker-smh)

Brown/white K5 is $6000

Brown K5 is $7000

Those prices high?

Biggest problem I see is that brown and white K5 is not at my house right now. Seriously.

All three look very good and probably worth the money if they check out as nice as they look in the photos.

Well, you asked, so -

I see no red flags other than that personally I tend to avoid vehicles lifted by a previous owner unless I'm intimately familiar with all the details and trust that it was done to a high quality (something hard to define). So for me, that rules out the brown 77 K5. The brown/white K5 is harder to tell, but at the most it may have a 2" lift which is very practical. As a previous message said, the K10 short box is sweet except for the wheels. It appears to have original paint, which is a huge bonus in my book especially with no rust.

All said and done though, you need to decide whether a pickup or blazer floats your boat the highest. If it were me (and I'm an odd cuss) I'd go with the brown/white K5 if for no other reason than it has the original "color coordinated hood stripes" which are becoming more and more rare as the years go by. I'd buy it and do my damnedest to preserve that original paint, or at the very least the hood. Plus, the brown/white K5 has the woodgrain dash, which I'm also a sucker for. And as an additional bonus, it also appears to have an un-molested and un-converted NP203 transfer case. Some might tell you the brown K5 with hubs (either a converted 203 or different t-case altogether) is the better option, but I happen to like the 203 and I like them even better without a kit installed.

But it's going to be your rig, so buy the one that excites you most. Not the one we like most. I see nothing fatal about any of them. If they are all local to you, then count me as jealous.

Yes, I prefer stuff closest to what it looked like when it came off the showroom floor, and that is getting harder and harder to come by these days. I love the old paint schemes too.

All 3 look good but the really bad things will only be seen under the hood and under side of the truck.

Loos like some rust above the wheelwell trim on the fender in this picture, as well as a rust hole below the trim under the marker light (in the brown, right near the edge of the bumper). I could be wrong, but it's worth investigating, because there's always more where that came from. Personally I'd get the K10, throw some rally wheels on it, and call it a day. I'm a sucker for a 73-76 that's mostly unmolested, especially 4x4's.

Are you looking for K5s as well now? I like the truck with the exception of the wheels but that is just my personal opinion. I think it really depends on what purpose you are looking at a 4wd for. A truck is a good all around vehicle.

Anything that is mostly unmolested, I can put back to original, is square and looks different!

i think Plague is right, if you lighten up the picture, looks like a rust hole behind the front wheel as well...

Hi, I am partial to trucks, so I like the 73...I have a 74 3/4 ton 4x4 I have had for 28 years, love it....the 383 stroker motors are awesome and depending on how many miles are on it makes the truck worth quite alot...the price is fair because of the motor....! Also, the truck has got the 205 transfer case, they are gear drive, which is the last year in the 70's that they used that with an automatic transmission......,the best, bulletproof t-case there is...in 74,they started using the 203 T-cases,they are chain drive and in my opinion junk.the blazers have the 203's in them, unless someone changed them, but not likely..... I have always changed the 203,to 205 in 4x4's that I have owned.....Let us know what you end up with!!!.

I think you posted them in the correct order already. IMO Although the truck looks a little cleaner than the others I like that brown K5.

Re: See any red flags with these vehicles?

As long as the floor pan and rockers are rust free,Replacing a fender is super easy.

Re: See any red flags with these vehicles?

Not bad that someone could get all 3 for 20 grand.......maybe cheaper if negotiating skills are pretty good.......buy a new/late model truck or all 3 of these.......it would make someone happy.....

Re: See any red flags with these vehicles?

Don't let the flaming on the 203 scare you. It is stronger then a 208, and 241. The 208 has been used under heavier big block trucks. With the 241 used behind duramax.

The 203's only weakness is lack of 2wd mode unless modified. It weighs just about the same as a 205. So keep a good chain in it, and it has little problems.
