Belt/window line trim

I just bought a really nice '69 Burb from member atp last weekend. I will put a build thread once I get off my pickup. It has that trim that mounts just under the window line. I don't really like it all that much and I will probably remove it once I start doing body and paint, which should be soon.

How do I remove it? I am not familiar with the clips

How much would it be worth? Its in really good shape except some numbskull mounted some car mirrors ON THE TRIM, so there are 2 holes in it on each side front door. It is very fixable, but it's just one of those facepalm things.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
James

This is the only picture I took so far

The clips are not reproduced so people are always looking for them.
They push in. Remove the interior panels and door panels, reach up underneath the window and squeeze the clip together then you can push it out of the hole.

I can't help on the trim because I've never had one that had it but I like your truck....

I did some looking and $75-$100 seems to be the going rate. I don't know about the holes though.

I like the trim. Mine has it. BTW, I paid $35 for a perfect tail hatch piece.

I'm just not a fan is all. I would be looking to sell it all. I'll probably wind up sticking it in the basement

Is that an original roof rack? If so could you post more pictures of it?

I think so. I can get more pictures later, I just pulled it in the garage to fix some stuff. I'll get on the garage roof and snap some good ones. That will be for sale too

Nope, not in the slightest. I LOATHE Mustangs, they are turd boxes and if you name something "Mustang" people will buy it, no matter what it is. And I don't know why people call them "notchbacks" they are nothing of the sort, it's the same thing as the non"notchback".

Read the name again notchbackGTA, Pontiac!

Sorry for the rant.

I am almost ashamed to say I sort of fell in love with the 67 Fastback my cousin had, lol. He got rid of it though because it needed too much work and he didn't want to go into debt fixing it

Re: Belt/window line trim

OK, I decided to keep the trim, but I will need to remove it for paint and repair. Does anyone have pictures of how the clip goes into the trim? There are several spots where you CAN'T get behind the panel to remove the clip first, so i'll have to pull on the clip to get it out of its channel without bending anything. I am thinking it is similar to the window trim from an F-body, but I would like to make sure before I start mucking around.
