Aftermarket aluminum pan for 292
 

Maybe I have just been searching through the web and forums for the last 3 hours in all the wrong places. But, I can not seem to find any aftermarket oil pan's for my 76 292.

Now, the pan is not leaking like crazy or anything. I will be pulling the engine in the summer to refresh it gasket wise with a few other aluminum bolt on's.

I just want to get a pile of parts around so when the warm weather comes the headaches will be less.
A nice finned aluminum pan with a integrated wind age tray and maybe a extra quart would add to the cool factor. Something I could detail all pretty for the kittens to stare at.

I looked hard i can't even find a oem replacement oil pan just the gasket only.

292 pans are deeper than 250 pans and are often used on those for more oil capacity. Pickups are different too.
AFAIK no one mass produces aluminum pans. Specialty shop work only. Bring $$.

Yup, there's no aftermarket pans for the 194/230/250/292. So the factory ones are kind of precious. I've cleaned up and repainted two pans now. Kind of a shame, because do we really need yet another pan for a sbc?

Oh, I should say that their ARE valve covers and pushrods covers. I have the aluminum Clifford ones on mine, but there are others.

Wow. I was not expecting that. I would understand if it was a inline 302. But, with just how many engines there are and the fact that the pan does not have any crazy curves or angles where it meets the block I expected there to be something outside of the one off racing pans I have found.

Its probably a lack of demand,How many people build a small block vs how many build a inline 6?

I've seen a few custom jobbies, and kicked around the idea of welding one up myself.

I'm surprised Clifford hasn't came up with something. I'd buy one in a second.

Ya, Clifford might well have made a pan, until Jack Clifford passed away. As far as I know, his family took over running the company, but that's more about punching out more of what they already have, not developing new products. I've got more faith in these guys: http://www.classicinlines.com/Home.asp Although they were originally a pure Ford shop.

I seen this video this weekend of this beautiful low profile pan. In the description the poster list that the pan is a Hamburger Aluminum pan.

I contacted Hamburger and they say they do not offer any type of pan currently.

If I find a aluminum pan I will put it on. Until then I will just plan on painting my steel one.

It's probably a custom from Hamburger. Which makes me wonder what the $ is...
