Harbor Freight Welding Cart (Review)
 

Hi all, I know it might have been covered before but after saving some money from my side jobs and getting a 20% discount coupon in the mail I finally bought a Harbor Freight basic welding cart. It came out to about $39.00 before tax, and took about 10 minuets to put together.

I am happy to have my welder finally on a convenient portable cart, and not under my bench. As well as keeping all my equipment in one spot. Not a bad product for the money.

Nice score, I've been using that same Harbor Freight cart for over a year now with no problems.

I looked at these when I got my welder but I just have never been able to wrap my thought process around a manufactured welding cart. I've always built them as a first project for the welder to learn it a bit. My cart is almost like that only built from .120 angle and has the non turning wheels mounted narrower with one on either side of the bottle. It also has a handle(w/clamp storage) and is big enough to have a bottom shelf that holds a cutoff saw and a couple of grinders. It's really not enough different to matter but I only have about $25 in it and the experience out of building it.

I originally bought that one, but once I got it assembled it was about a quarter inch to narrow for my welder.

Dissembled it, brought it back and got their one with draws. To bad that one cost me over triple the price

I got one for my Hobart 190. Doesnt fit enough for me to open and close the side panel without having to tilt it. I just level the side panel slightly open.

Its like this cart was built for my lincoln 140. Fits perfect.

made a few minor upgrades to mine. I want to change some stuff. I just got a much taller argon mix bottle and that made the welder move forward.
I'll dig in to next round of upgrades someday.;)

Thats what I did with mine too....this way you can tailor it to fit your rig the way you want and get used to the way your welder works. I got some angle iron & 1/8" plate cold roll from a steel supply place near me. A set of back wheels & casters for the front....you are good to go for cheap !

I bought one of those for my first welding cart. The swivel wheels never worked good so I replaced them with some wheels at HF...worked really nice after that..I ended up giving it to a coworker after I bought this one from HF:

it's a lot more expensive (150 on sale) but is a really nice cart.

Just a little tip for you guys with mig welders I was having some trouble out of my liner had to replace it a couple times and was talking to a guy that work in a fab shop and he said my problem was I was rolling lead up he told me not roll it up if possible if I had to to try make the lope as big as I could I started doing it haven't had to Change one scents and I'm working on my third 44lb spool of wire
