looking for bag brackets
I am looking for a set of upper bag mounts for the front of my 67 suburban. I know this sounds easy but here's the twist, someone had mounts on it before so there are holes drilled in my crossmember already so I'd like to find a set of plates without the outer mounting holes in them so I can drill them myself to line up with the existing holes. Does anyone have an idea of where I could find a set? I'd like to support a vendor on the board if possible.
Thanks in advance. |
Re: looking for bag brackets
You could cut your own from plate steel.

I was thinking about that but figured on it as more of a last resort. This will be my first airbag install.

Re: looking for bag brackets
Still looking for brackets. I wouldn't mind cutting my own if I could find some sort of instructions. I can get the shape cut and the holes drilled fine but I'm not exactly sure where to put the bag mount holes. I'm new to airbag suspension and really don't want to make these more than once.

Re: looking for bag brackets
Even if the new holes aren't in the same place you can drill new ones. As long as they are an inch apart or so you should be fine.

Re: looking for bag brackets
My concern is that the new brackets will be very close or overlapped. I had thought about welding the holes shut but I would really hate to try to drill through my weld.

Re: looking for bag brackets
My best friend is down in Grover btw. Drilling weld isnt that bad. If they are that close then drill all new holes in your crossmember and plate. No big deal.

That's kinda what I figured it would take but being new to this I get a little nervous.
