Adjusting Rear Spring Rate in c20

Hi guys, I currently have a c20 with leaf springs in the rear. I'm looking to lessen the initial bounce that the rear has over big bumps. I need to keep the load capacity a little greater than a half ton truck, but I don't really need to have this thing this stiff.

I know it's not damping rates, I've gone through a few different style of shocks. Does anyone have any experience pulling a few springs out of the pack?

Not on these trucks, but I've pulled a few leafs before, just leaving the overload. Its not really the "Right" way to do anything, but we used it for lowered trucks.

I pulled 3 out of my C20 and it rode way better. Still had like 6 leafs. Id guess it would still hall more than a C10.
