Want to buy NOS cargo hooks or restorable originals. Need 4. Here are some pics courtesy of some of our members.

Hi Todd, I got your paypal payment and I know that you had said you'd trust my knowledge on these and didn't need pics earlier on the phone, but these are the pictures that I mentioned taking before we had spoke. Here are the NOS p/n 987473 cargo tie down hooks that I dug out for you, the GM box is dated 68 and the sealed hardware bag is also dated May of 68. Will also add pictures of the OE LH auxiliary battery tray and matching washer bottle bracket since they were already taken and the items are all being shipped together. Thanks again, Mel. :chevy:

Cargo hooks? Those things are so neat!

Would they work with a stepside also?

When ordered they were generally ordered in batches of 8 and most commonly on the wood bed floors. 4 were mounted in the floor and two each on the bed sides one to the front and one to the rear of the wheel humps on the fleet sides. They can obviously be made to fit into a steel floor fairly simply as well. They come with a bolt kit that is hidden inside the double wall of the fleet side. I don't see any reason why you couldn't use them on a step side as well. I did get some advise from another member that said that they did not wear well because the coating was poor and they collect water and rust. I am not concerned with that because I'm installing on garage queen and want to have them chromed. If you are going to leave it outside and work it you may want to consider another option. If not.....I think they are neat also.

i used to have several NOS ones, i'll count mine and let you know if i have any extras. they used to pop up on ebay regularly, thats where i got all of mine--10 years ago;)

i finally got out to my storage and dug out the tie downs. i only have 4 sets left. i'm not sure when or if i will get around to installing them in any of my trucks so if you need one set i'll sell them to you-they are NOS with the hardware and instruction sheet. i'll let them go at the same price Mel charged you and hopefully find a set later for myself if i ever get around to using them.
