1968 Chevy C10 Paint Code Help

So I've looked at my SPID plenty of times and it shoes that my paint is Red/Off-White, ye I don't know how to find out what the car originally looked like. I cant find any original photos of the car, and there is plenty of Red/Off-White paint options, as I don't know if my trim was white, or if I had a white roof, etc. Is there any way I can find original pictures of my truck, or a possibility of finding out what my truck really looked like? Thanks everyone!

Vermillion Metallic (RPO code 515) or Cardinal Red (RPO code 514 - Edited: originally wrote 516 by mistake) were your 68 reds - what is the code on your SPID? It will likely be neither code, these are solid paint codes - but if you post yours, and a pic perhaps, we can decode for you. Is it believed to be original paint? Anyhoo - these were the two reddish options in 68 - you could to to a paint shop with these codes and have them mix it up. BUT, if you've had a repaint, no guarantee what you currently have is either of these of course. All I'm saying is that if you want to resto, the code on the SPID will tell them exactly which paint to use.

In order for anyone to answer your questions, you would need to provide some kind of paint code numbers. A picture of your SPID is a good start.

544 = light red (514) with a white top (521) (conventional two tone, i.e. whole lower body was 514 red)

For a '68 Model Year trim scheme, you would have a White painted metal grille with chrome [actually anodized aluminum] grille loops and headlamp bezels. And brite metal trim on fender fronts and hood edge.
The '67 Look would have White painted headlamp bezels and loops, no trim on eyebrows or hood leading edge, and body color on the grille metal.
Here's a shot of my '68 w/516 Orange.

Thanks a lot man! I really wanted to know so I can make my truck as original as possible! Your 68 is beautiful by the way!!! Lastly, non-paint related... What does the trim on my SPID mean? it shows I have trim but I don't know what trim I had.

Well I'm not a trim expert as 'Orange Sunshine' there was a fleet truck with the basic Standard package, nothing Deluxe.
I will hazard the guess that RPO 4605JD RED CLOTH TRIM pertains to the seat, and 4898AB SIDE TRIM MOLD EQ was the chrome trim strips attached to the lower side edges.
SS Tim is our resident RPO Trim Expert, but you can check the Brothers or LMC catalogs for what the '67 -'68 deluxe side trim molding looked like.
By the way, we still need an exterior shot of your red truck.

Thanks for the compliment. The blurry photo doesn't show all the "Arizona Pinstriping" [cactus scratches] and sun burned oxidized patina on the original paint.

Haha thanks a lot man! Yeah I need to find the cloth seats that are original for this truck, as for some reason I have Later 60's International seats in her XD

That's still the Fremont factory original paint and trim. Calif/Ariz truck.

I'd like to see the International seat. My Grandfather worked for I-H as a production engineer for most of his career. [Broke his heart when I bought a Chevy truck]. :waah: I have a '69 T-Bird seat in mine: it's a bench-bottom/bucket back and is [was] electrical. Personally I think one can get too 'purist' in a restoration, but it's your rig, man.

One last question: why does your avatar have a :gmc2: featured?
