differences between AC and Non AC cabs?
So what are the differences between a cab with factory AC
and one without, besides the vent holes in the dash? Thanks. |
The cutouts for the heater box on the firewall are also completely different.

There is a provision for the outside air door in the gutter, (holes in the right locations, no major difference).

Firewall holes have minor differences and can be modified with a bit of tin. The cowl flapper can be added in.

the vent holes in the kick panels are vacuum operated on the a/c cabs, and the ones on the non a/c are manually operated

I am in the process of adding AC to my Jimmy Cab, I figured out the firewall thing afterwards so I am in the process of welding in a patch then cutting out a new hole. It would be a huge help to have another AC cab to take the measurements for the postion of the vents from, it would take 4 times longer to lay out the dash holes without a AC cab to measure from IMO.

I have a stock A/C dash here that I can make fiberglass templates from. Bowtie wants them too and he's been asking for a while. I'll see if I can muster up some time and then we can pass the templates around.

Some body show pics, I'm interested in adding A/C. My truck only has a heater.
