6.5" van Rally wheels

The 82 C10 I bought last year has four 6.5" van Rally wheels. I understand these are great to use for fender clearance on the front of a truck that's been lowered more than 2.5". If that's true, how much are they worth? I want to replace them with 7" or 8" Rally wheels, which move the tires outboard. The lowest I'll ever go in the front is 2.5".

What backspacing do those wheel have? I have no idea on value, but I'd be interested in a couple.

They're not worth anything more than the other truck ralleys. I see typical priced wheels from $15 - 40ea depending on condition.

6.5" Rally wheel backspacing is 4.00", compared to 3-5/8" on the 7".

This means the 6.5" outer rim edge is 7/8" farther inboard compared to the 7" wheel, in other words 7/8" more fender lip clearance with the same width tire.

Exactly.

I agree. For example, the 327 rod length/stroke ratio is just about ideal at 1.75. I ran one for 6 years in a 55 Chevy sedan. It used a 350 block and 307 crank, which made for more journal overlap than a small journal 327 crank. (Rotating assembly was balanced of course.)

It also had Brodix IK180 heads, and initially a 224/230 solid lifter cam. Eventually went from a 3.42 to a 3.08 axle for more comfortable cruising, and switched to a 204/208 hydraulic cam from Jones Cam Designs. The smaller cam produced a more streetable power band along more vacuum. And even though it probably cost me some horsepower at high RPMs, I rarely revved the thing above 5000, so never noticed it. Always wanted to build a screamer though. Maybe in a 62-65 Nova or early Camaro. ;)
