Harbor Freight purchase

So I went Wednesday afternoon and bought the 2 ton cherry picker from them. It was on sale for $229.99. Get home and there is a book of coupons in my mail box. Inside is a coupon for $179.99 for what I have just bought. I'm going back after work today to see if they will honor the coupon. Anyone else have an experience like this there?

Yeah. Just bring the receipt and the coupon and they refund the difference. I have done it a couple of times.

HF is the only place that I like because of its "screw it" customer service policy. In my area at least, none of the employees are overly familiar with any of the 5k+ products they have...which means that they will warranty/honor pretty much ANYTHING if it seems reasonable.

They also have an "unwritten" exchange policy on stuff that they know just kinda sucks. Case in point; those little orange butane torches that re useful for soldering (or heating up a titanium nail  ) are like $7 and pretty popular. They work great, but the packing on the valves eventually wears out and can stop working or just leak its charge. They aren't a hand tool (so no lifetime warranty) and they aren't eligible for a replacement plan since they are soo cheap.

Most companies would just have a "Get what you pay for" attitude about a $7 torch. Instead, HF just lets you exchange it. No reciept, no name, no proof its broken...just take a new one have a nice day.

I love that.

Follow up....

Went back the next day with my receipt and newly aquired coupon. They cheerfully refunded the difference to me.

Just a friendly up here---I thought there was a thread on HF hoists bending! nowhere near the rated capacity. As always no matter what brand never trust your limbs or life to such a tool.

So buy an HF welder and weld stiffening braces to it. Problem solved.

Just kidding. A boom arm bending at the wrong time is a serious safety hazard. Using an HF hoist at its limit would not be in the users best interest. And doing some extra bracing is not a bad idea. Heck, how can I be should that a hoist from Northern Hydraulic is any better? or Auto Zone? O'Rielliy's?

Just always be careful using lift equipment.

Oh and I'm glad you got some money back. Always nice to get money back!
