Re: does anyone know what these trucks sold new for?
The sticker price on my 98 reg cab shortbed K1500 Silverado Z71 was 27k. It had a 5.7. That's the only one of my gmt400 trucks that still had the window sticker.

Re: does anyone know what these trucks sold new for?
My '92 K3500 SRW regular cab SLE 6.5TD/5spd with every option I wanted came out to just under $26k and I got it on the road for $20.5. I saved $1,000 not getting the automatic "option" that came in just about every truck. At that time I could have bought two W/T K1500s for $26k
My '95 K3500 SRW regular cab Cheyenne 6.5TD/5spd with a few options had a sticker price of $25k. The prices climbed like crazy through the '90s |

Re: does anyone know what these trucks sold new for?
I bought my 95' GMC K15000 SLE, ext cab/short bed, from a Peterbilt <> Kenworth & GMC Dealer.
He sold it to me at his cost because my wife (now ex) was purchasing 3 Pete's at the same time and he was planning on picking up his compensation/profit from the sale of the 3 big trucks. What happen was he forgot to place the GMC order when the Pete's were ordered, GMC had a mid-year price increase and when the Pete's showed up he had to scramble to locate my truck. According to him he lost money on my truck selling it to me just short of $22k. He didn't get hurt, the Ex bought at least another 50 Pete's from him before she retired and sold out. |

I am only asking cause wife and I had a fight. I told her the 1996 suburban k1500 SLT probably 33-34 grand back in 96.

As a point of interest; I recall looking at a window sticker (in 1975) on a brand new 1976 Bright Red 3/4T 4X4 Suburban on a Chevy dealer truck lot, under the street lights at night after they had closed and the sticker read $8,600.00. I wanted that truck so bad but that was a lot of money back then so I held off and did not bite. Three months later the "trumped up" gas shortages hit, the lines at the pumps were 1/2 mile long and the dealers literally could not give those 4X4 Burb's away. I have wanted one ever since, but I have not been able (courage) to pull the plunger. Sad but True ;) |
Re: does anyone know what these trucks sold new for?
Suburbans cost the most and resell for less later on. I just bought a '95 Suburban in December because they were running an average of $1,500 less than a comparable truck.

Re: does anyone know what these trucks sold new for?
My old 1999 CK LS C1500 was $25,700. It basically had all of the Silverado options but since there was a mid year change in body style my CK body 99 was called a LS. Had a 5.0, auto, 3.73 posi. Was a great truck that I should have kept. Traded it in on a 2003 S10 and regretted it ever since.
