VIN help needed...please
I bought a truck several years back and the gentlemen did not have the title. I was going to use it for parts but, because of condition, I might see about putting it on the road.
I have the VIN info from the tag but, no title info. Is there a way to run or check the VIN to see if title is active? VIN number is 12 digits and the online VIN checking sites need 17 digits. C1445S186842 Thanks in advance for any and all info, Dan scarabsport1@comcast.net |
Re: VIN help needed...please
If you have a friend in law enforcement have them run the number for you. That looks like the correct number for a, I believe, 1965 C10.

Yeah, I wish I had a friend in law enforcement to run the number.
Thanks, Dan |
Re: VIN help needed...please
Go to your local DMV and ask them what to do. Some states don't issue titles on older cars like Maine. Did you get a bill of sale?

My 1964 C-10 is 4C144S202947. Might want to make sure your not minning a number in front of the "C"

Re: VIN help needed...please
You might want to re-check your VIN. My 64 C-10 is 4C144S, no # before the "S" just before the "C"
Seems I have double posted and I can't delete it |

1960 - 1964 had the year number at the beginning of the VIN number. 1965 - 1966 had the year number as the 5th digit of the VIN. Good VIN link above. |
