6 inch lift kit help!!
I'm picking up a 6 inch lift kit tonight. The guy says its a superlift full spring set up. I thought superlift only sold front springs and rear blocks? I know they are coming off of a swb k10 with 3/4 ton axles, maybe the rears are stock k20 springs with add a leafs? Im trying to put them on a completely stock 1987 chevy v10 Lwb. What will i need to grab from him? All 4 springs, shocks, steering arm, pitman arm, What else? also do you think i will have driveshaft problems? I have a 700r4 tranny and im not sure of the transfer case. Thanks:metal::metal:

Youl need longer brake lines. Yes you will have drive shaft problems.

Re: 6 inch lift kit help!!
You should have a NP208 Transfer case
If you have an OE style Y-Pipe, it will hit your front drive shaft. Your rear drive shaft may work just fine, or it may be too short. Hit and miss with these trucks. Some of the lift springs move the rear axle forward to compensate. Some do not. You wont know until you have every thing put together. On my 6" lift, the rear shaft was just fine. Plenty of the yoke was still in the transfer case. |
Re: 6 inch lift kit help!!
i had an 85 3/4 ton suburban, 6'' suspension with 35's.
front was springs w/dropped pitman arm, rear was blocks w/add a leaf. front brake lines will need to be longer. and i had problems with my kit, u-bolts for my rear axle (14 bolt) were not beg enough. i had a 350 w/700r4 and did not have any drive shaft problems, but i would say i did very little hard core 4 wheelin |
