How is the hardtop on a 1970 blazer fastened?

Hey Guys;
My first post, and there most likely will be tons more. I just purchased a 1970 Blazer, and will be picking it up from the seller in a week or so. The truck is located about 4 hours from me, and currently has a soft top on it. The original hardtop is also included, but I need to install it on the truck so that I can get it home. The owner is not sure if he has the bolts that hold it down, so I'm trying to figure out what sizes I should bring with me.
Thanks for any replies.
Dan

Just a thought... if you have a trailer put the hard top in the trailer. Saves putting on the top and saves you taking that beast off when you get home.

That's the one !!
Was not in the best of shape even though owner claimed rust free western truck. Overall it's pretty solid but needs the typical panels replaced. Hoping to pick it up in a week so that I can figure out how much needs replacing. Plan is to put a big order in for the needed panels and then pick them up at the spring Carlisle flea-market.
Just sold my street-rod, so this truck stuff will be all new to me.
As far as bringing a trailer, I could, but the only trailer I have right now that's not buried in snow is a 4X8 utility. I think just bolting it on the Blazer might be the best option.
Belleville EH !! I'm just down the road in Newcastle.

Great!! I guess I should have searched this site a bit better. LOL
5/16 bolts? Wow, that seems light duty?? I'll bring some with me when I go pick it up.
Here's a link to the car I just sold; www.dantechfabricating.com
I'll miss it, but it had become unpractical. I need a toy that can pull a travel trailer for when we go to the shows.

Be prepared to spend sometime putting that top on. Takes me at least 2 hours and I've done it before and don't have fender skirts in the back or a soft top to take off.

Thanks for the heads up !!
It doesn't have to be a perfect install. I just need it sturdy enough to get the top home. I may never even use it , but worth grabbing since it's included in the sale.

Good point just in case the threads are messed on the cap.
Thanks

Congrats from Ontario also (Waterloo area). Make sure to post up some pictures of it ( almost a pre-requisite ). There is also a Canada members area you can post and read to find others in your area. Link below. This forum is an awesome website and resource.

The 70 should be a double wall top so I don't know if the clamps and 1x2 will help.

This is true. That truck has a double wall.

Fasten the front/ windshield in the 4 spots and 1 or 2 each bedside and it will ride home.

Great !! Thanks Guys
This truck will get a complete frame off restoration, so stay tuned for a build thread.
As much as I like to keep vehicles original, I will be installing a 5.3 and 4L65E transmission. I plan on driving and towing with it, so economy is a major factor. I'm also tossing the idea around of a single turbo, but we'll have to see how the finances are when I get to that point.
I'm a Mopar Guy at heart, but have always had a soft spot for 67-72 GM trucks.
Will post pics of it once I pick it up.
Dan
