Would the original houndstooth seat cover in my truck be sewn to the foam from the factory?

I don't think they sew them to the foam. I think they go threw the foam an attach it to rods on the back side of the seat. I could be wrong though;)

No.

Completed covers would come in from one supplier; seat foam from another.

They would be added to the seat frame in a remote area of the plant (called the "Cushion Room"), due to fire concerns, and then conveyed to the trim line in sequence with the build.

Using this process there is no location where the cover, the foam and a sewing machine would be together in the same place.

Thanks for the answers guys, and the little knowledge there Keith. Did a little more looking and what I was seeing is the foam that is actually stitched to the cover. I did not know it was setup like that.
