Iam using a frame swap kit from code 504, ride tech four link out back, and Thorbecke Brothers arms up front.

What size 6cyl is that? I'm trying to figure out if I can put side mounts on my 235? I have holes in the side of the block that look right but a lot different than a 250.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Here's a little back ground, built my first truck when I was 16 with the help of my dad.

The core support worked out good, just had to cut it off right below the bottom to holes and bolt it in.

I have a 235 and I'm not sure you can put side mounts on the block area I'm thinking about using. It doesn not have the reinforced are like the 250 has. It does have the same three bolt hole locations on both side of the block with bolts in them just not sure what they are for.

Re: 54 Chevy s10

I know the 54 Chevy cars used side mounts.

Re: 54 Chevy s10

Sorry man, I should have posted that here after seeing that was your truck. So, How far is your cab sitting off the frame? I am making my own mounts and my mounts are going to be about 2 3/4" off the frame in the front. I coudn;t justify buying a premaid kit for what I spent on the truck.

ADchevys 03-30-2015 04:20 PM

Re: 54 Chevy s10

It sits about 6 3/4 off the frame, it will run a stock style radiator. My white and green truck sits 3 3/4 off the frame, the radiator was a real pain. the kit is very well made, and I put it on with a 4 inch grinder and cordless drill. I did have to modify some of it because it's laying frame.

Re: 54 Chevy s10

I do know I have to run a shorter radiator. I hope that is all the trouble I run into. I don't want to tunnel my floor either. I think this is as low as I can go and still stay with a flat floor. I haven't set the cab on the frame yet. Still getting the motor out and working outside makes it a little bit of a challenge. I am also running a T5 behind my 235 with a 2001 olds brevada disk 4x4 rear end. I wish I could see mine sitting like yours is now. I'll get there, but I still have a ways to go. I really like seeing everyoine's pictures. It helps a whole lot and inspires me to keep pushing forward.

This picture is from my white truck, it has a 3 1/2 inch tunel.

how far does it set up off the frame?

ADchevys 03-31-2015 02:30 PM

Re: 54 Chevy s10

It sits 3 3/4 inches off the frame.

b.sharp 03-31-2015 03:42 PM

Re: 54 Chevy s10

ok. So, my mounts are 3.25 + the rubber bushing. I thought I cut them shorter but I went from 4.25 to 3.25. So I may have to raise a section of my hump to accomodate the T5 shifter hump. I will see when I get everything set into place.

Thanks fo rthe information. It helps to see what others have done.
