Exhaust issue
 

I have a major split in one of my down pipes. I took my truck to an exhaust guy today. Well, the say everything is rusted bad and are worried it will take a lot of time and money to repair. I'm now thinking of just taking everything off and starting over. I was wondering if any of you know the best place to get good quality ram horn manifolds to replace my rusted bad ones? I'm pretty sure mine are the standard manifolds. Any upside to using the 2.5 inch ones?

Cast iron hold up quite well over a long period of time// me i'd take thr manifolds off and have them blasted to see exactly what you have before buying new stuff

of course if you came upon a 2.5 inch set pretty cheap i'd change them in a minute

if your whole system is old and rusted internally, then it should all be replaced to prevent future problems. if it were me I would buy a set of short or mid length headers that tuck above the bottom of the frame. I've used Midlength Chevelle headers with great success! you can actually pick up a rather inexpensive set for under $200 that has nice thick flanges and is ceramic coated.

I just replaced one of my manifolds. Bought on AutoZone's website, it's a Dorman brand, supposedly the original manufacture for GM. I'm happy, beats the hell out what was on it;)

Look them up on Jegs or Summit.. fairly cheap.

You can get a pair of Dorman ramhorns at Amazon pretty cheap. Comes with gaskets and studs. If your engine is stock I'd say there is little upside to 2.5" ones. If you do go that route the 2.5" Vette ram horns are pretty cheapat Jegs. Have to deal with the straight outlets.
