Steering Wheel Question
Will a steering wheel off a 70's Nova,Vega etc. fit my 68 C10. Any issues with the horn, column? Thanks to all!

Re: Steering Wheel Question
Yes. It should bolt right up. No problem.

Re: Steering Wheel Question
Agree. It should bolt right up. The only glitch would be, depending on the wheel chosen, wiring the horn contact. I don't know if the Vega wheels require any modifications for the horn. I used a 94 S10 Blazer LT leather wrapped wheel and have some pics of how I wired the horn which may help depending on your wheel.

Re: Steering Wheel Question
Don't '67,68,69 have the smaller splined shaft and later bigger? Does the same go for GM cars?
|
Re: Steering Wheel Question
No the wheels will work from way back[early 60's I'm sure of] to way forward to 94 and beyond the splines are still the same after the 94 model year it is just that most wheels went funky looking air-bag were installed. Jim

Re: Steering Wheel Question
One of the beauties of GM is so much parts interchangeability. Did you know the glovebox latches in our trucks are the exact same one as in a '55 Chevy Belair? Not only those, but just a for instance.

Re: Steering Wheel Question
Why do the aftermarket wheel adapters change after '69 then? That's why I thougt they were different.

Re: Steering Wheel Question
I'm tempted to hijack this thread to #itch about the 3 spoke grant that I sent back after one week.
I just did... consider it a public service announcement. I'm on the hunt too. I'll be hitting the junk yards for my next wheel. |
