Windshield rubber, is there a difference?

Is there a difference between windshield rubber for a 1970 and 1971? I mean the rubber with the custom molding.
I'm asking this because the rubber I got from Precious was not the right one. The molding would not stay in the rubber, prior to fitting the windshield. I had to use the old rubber to fit the new windshield.
I Ordered the rubber at a local store here in the Netherlands and they say it's the same for 67-72. But looking at a chart from Precious windshield rubbers they show different part numbers for 67-68, 69-70 and 71-72.
Can anyone shine a light on this?

Thanks in advance.

Edmond

It's been a few years since I was in the glass business, but I think they were the same. Usually problems with the fit are because of differences in the aftermarket parts.

That's what I first thought aswell, but then I found out about the different part numbers, for the same rubber....That doesn't make sence.

My LMC catalog shows a different seal for 71-72. They made a change in the stainless trim for those years, and they wont interchange. It shows 67-70 the same

If your using the stainless trim, There is a difference. There is 67-70 and 71-72.
The difference is in the depth of the of the groove the trin fits in.

I got my trim and windshield gasket from Frank (PickMUp) and the windsheild place actually told me to use him. He has tried a bunch of different types and has found a great one that works perfect. This windshield place wanted me to use it because they warrenty thier windshields to have NO leaks for the lifetime! Cool Eh- talk to PickMUP he knows! I also have the chrome trim and John and Hottwheez67 are right!

the difference between the trim is the length of the tab that the trim engages into the seal with, if you use 70 trim and seal in a 72 truck it will work fine you just have to match the year of the seal to the trim.
