60-63 idiot light cluster question
 

I saw a cluster being sold on ebay. Part of the description was that it had the rare chrome rings around the gauges, while most had white painted rings. It's a idiot light cluster. It brought $415 . Are the clusters with chrome rings around the gauges really that rare or desirable?

I have seen both style's but most were painted rings. I think it might have something to do with being a custom cab.

I always thought it was a 60-61 versus a 62-63 difference, with 60-61 being the years with the chrome rings.

My 63 came with the warning lights originally and with the chrome rings. I have since replaced with factory gauges.

I'm not sure on what applications got chrome or painted, I do know the 60-62's (maybe 60-61....can't quite remember) had real temp gauges and they were replaced by warning lights in 63.

whenever I list stuff it doesn't even sell, much less at 10X the value...

at our local yard I have seen the chrome ring dash in all 4 years, the 63 had the chrome dash knobs as well.

A couple of my old trucks have them too. I was going to change them out for gauge clusters.
