Different spindle for 2gen camaro..moving wheelstance forward `??

Hy all

in my 51 i do have a camaro subframe...unfortunately i am not that happy with the stance.. the wheels should be a bit more forward...

Do u know if there are any spindles which are fitting to the camaro frame and bringing the wheels forward ??

Thanks

I have never seen a spindle that would move the axle centerline forward. It would throw off the front end geometry. My advice would be move the subframe forward. Yes it's lots of work, but it's the only way to make it right.

Best of luck with your project!

thanks for info..

maybe there are any a arms ???

Before i have to change / correct the subframe, i will put the chassis backwards.

its probably a lot more easier.... the frontwheels are just 2 -3 cm not centered

Never seen any A-arms either. Same problems would occur.

IF you do not want to redo the clip you could move the rad core, cab mounts, bed mounts to center the front wheel. Then you can adjust the rear axle perch on the springs (assumed stockish leaf rearend). That will also affect your steering column, pedal set up, etc. Larger or smaller tires may make is less obvious too. Post a pic so we can see how "bad" it is... Like other said any band aid using modified spindles or A arms will cause handling problems. Little changes can cause problems. I have a friend that had a Volare clip on an AD truck. Rode fine except when he hit a specific type of bump at a specific speed, when that happened the truck either dove into the incoming traffic lane or ditch. Turned out the clip was just a little bit out of level and had the torsion arms out of spec to lower it. He got a new frame and started over.

That is one thing we all faced when putting a subframe on one of these trucks. Getting the wheels perfectly centered in the opening.

3 cm or just over one inch is just about what most of us set the subframe forward of original to center the wheels too.

This is as close to a straight on side shot of my truck as I have available of it with the subframe under it and that is what I think I did to center the wheels

Hy all....

i will take a picture in the near future...

For the rearend i do have a 4-Link setup ...so therefore i am bit flexibel.

At the moment i have just some small wheels on it...but finally i want to install a 20 / 22 combo.

So if the look will getting worse with 20 inches on the front , i have to relocate the chassis.
But u r right it is also still a lot of work...

I keep u updated with some pics
