If you don't go soft top you can always modify a camper shell hatch to work. I am in the process of doing this now I finally got fed up with replacing tailgate windows from stock blazer latches popping open happened 3 times and the last time was in the snow which made for a rather cold ride home. This is only going to be a temporary fix for me though because I plan on getting a soft top.

Thanks for the info guy's. How hard is it to put a pick up tailgate on a blazer? What has to be done?

tis easy. You need different hardware though, but the parts are easy to get from Pick n pull for $20 and the mounting holes should already be there on the blazer.

It sounds like it will bolt right up without any cutting or mods.

it took me 3 visits to the pick n pull to get a decent tailgate and the right hardware. Total cost $50. i have it on standby for a change from the correct tailgate.

Just make sure the tail gate and hardware are from the same "generation" of tail gates. I hear the trunions and hinges can be different from an early 70s to a later 80s. Best bet, just get it all from the same truck. Holes and threads are already in the blazer. They use the same fenders.
