need buffing suggestions and advice
 

Im currently trying to put a shine on my patina paint and im struggling bad. Ive tried hand waxing and buffing each leaves a streaky/hazy/foggy finish behind. Im using malco rejuvinator wax which ive always had good luck with. But ive never had such oxidized paint either. Will someone offer some good advice. you can see the haze on lower left of picture.

It almost looks like you buffed the product into the paint. Try buffing it at a lower speed.

You may need to try a clay bar then buff. There may be too much junk on the paint to do any good with a straight buffing. A clay bar will remove the contaminants and leave a real clean surface for the buffer. Also if you don't have a clay bar and lots of us don't you may want to try a test spot with Comet household cleaner.That stuff really helps getting the paint to wake up and helps in the removal of the old paint. thanks, ive tried low speeds, like hand speed and that did same effect, only place it really shows foggy is hood and roof.

I just did my truck about a month ago, I used turtle wax buffing compound, with a buffer at about speed 2 , I had a spry bottle and would spray the section I was buffing as I buffed it, but not to much just so the compound would not harden and to prevent the section I was doing from getting hot, came out great. I spent about $12 on the compound , bought 4 small containers of the compound , then I just used some wax and waxed the truck

Just so you know, you have just about reached the end of shiny on that paint. The gloss is gone and what is left is the patina. The others are right, you may have some wax in the paint that can be polished out, but you are at that point of life where the base line is the paint and nothing else.

Why not degrease the whole thing and clear it as-is?

Im fine with no "shine" I'd just like the haze gone what would be a good degreaser? That wont hurt paint.

Here is what I used!
1. Number 2 with a wool bonnet to cut the oxidation and clean the paint for waxing. This took a while and a few applications to clean the junk off the paint.
2. I also experimented with a clay bar too and used it after the wool bonnet to get anything still left on the truck before waxing it.
3. I used foam pads for the number 6 and did 2 applications one with a medium foam bonnet and then wit a very soft foam bonnet.
4. (I have not done this yet)
I'll be finishing it off with the number 9 swirl remover. Not sure that's the best path but it seem to be working so far.

Cash3481 - Those are fantastic results! Were you pleased with the outcome after the final stage using swirl remover?
