rear suspension question
 

in the interest of full disclosure the rear of my truck is lowered with the brackets that specialtyretail sells here..... now, on to the question. Since lowering it I had to cut off the bump stop bracket because I was sitting right on it. Now I have a few inches of suspension travel. When I press the accelerator something in the rear is shifting. The truck goes to the right and then when I let off it settles back straight.

I've been under it and everything is tight... u-bolts, leaf spring bolts (leafs have new bushings), probably needs new u-joints soon.

Could it be motor mounts? I don't think that would cause the shifting in the read end though.

Sounds like loose rear axle to me, but you checked everything....

Did you use new u-bolts?

Is the flip kit actually well seated in the old leaf perch?

I am not a fan of those flip brackets, I strongly suggest looking at the Bell-tech or Western Chassis flip brackets. Compare the design, you will see the difference. I also agree, something is loose...check everything back there carefully.

If you used the original u-bolt plate, it doesn't have a relief hole in it for the leaf spring center bolt. Make sure you slightly off set the u-bolt plate so it isnt sitting on the leaf spring center bolt or you wont be able to get the rear end fully tightened. Another way to fix this is to drill an off set hole in the u-bolt plàte to match the off set in the flip bracket.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm moving into my new house this weekend so maybe I'll get to tear it all apart next weekend.
