3 speed floor shift
I have an 71 Blazer 307/3speed standard shift . Has anyone done a 3speed floor conversion if so where on the tunnel does the shifter come through. Is it on the corner or on the flat of the tunnel . Just preparing myself if I have to make a table to sit the boot on

Re: 3 speed floor shift
I suggest you buy the shifter, then mount it without the handle to determine where the floorboard cut-out needs to be. Then drill a hole from the bottom where the shifter would come through in neutral. Open up that hole from the top just enough to let the handle poke through, and then enlarge a little at a time. On the last one I did, my floorboard hole ending up being only around 2" wide and 4"-5" long. It's easier to make the hole larger than smaller. :)
Here's the only 3-speed shifter I would use: http://www.hurst-shifters.com/produc...n-and-pick-up/ And here's a thread about the installation in a 64 truck, but it may give you an idea of where it mounts relative to the transmission centerline. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=408144 Whatever you use, be sure to use the truck version with a taller handle. |

On My 2wd Blazer conversion. I went with a 3 speed Saginaw, floor shifter out of a 69-Nova/Camaro. Center of shifter is 30" off the drivers door, 27" forward of the floor bump-up to the rear.
