Anyone know if my new centring sphere is correct, as it doesn't match the old one....nee one is on the right??

The one on the right might work but the one on the left is correct. I wouldn't use it, there might be a slight difference in dia. and the way it fits together with the upper and lower shafts.

I've put it back together using the new one 70 before your reply...lol, its not that big of a job to redo it with the old one reinstated, i'll find out when the column is back in....its odd though, the new one is a genuine GM part and from a vendor who knows our trucks inside out. Thanks.

Where did the replacement come from? Was it a suppose to be a direct replacement. If so I would try it and see how it goes together and fills after essembly

That new one might work better than the old style because the old style wears on the upper and lower shafts and can put deep grooves on them.

You wouldn't happen to have the part number for that item would you?

Yeah it felt like a real good fit and that spring in the middle is obviously to tension the two halves, I'm gonna wait and see how it feels when the column is back in the Truck, the pt# GM 26057095.
